Since its introduction, the Bombardier Traxter™ ATV has been the object of praise by the press. Voted "ATV of the Year" in 1999 by ATV Magazine and "Best ATV on the market" by Popular Mechanics the very same year, the first entry into the ATV market by Bombardier was, and continues to be, a hands-down winner. And although they’re honoured by the industry’s recognition, it’s the response from actual owners that pleases them most. Because at Bombardier, ATVs are engineered with you in mind. You.

As hard-working as they come, the Traxter is also a very smart machine. In fact, it’s the only ATV with a tractor-like step-through platform that makes getting on and off a breeze while providing greater riding stability. Its ultra-solid construction and powerful 498 cc Rotax® engine make it one of the hardest working ATVs around.

All Traxters are equipped with a constant-mesh fully engaged gear-drive transmission. No belts, no hydraulic fluid: just good old-fashion gear actuating gears for maximum efficiency, low heat generation and reliability. Time after time, in worked situations, Bombardiers experience has shown that nothing beats the performance of a gear-drive transmission. And now Bombardier offers you two ways of selecting gears:

The Traxter™ now offers the only electronically shifted, fully engaged gear transmission on the market. You select the range and the computer does the rest. This innovative system also allows you to override the automatic mode and to shift to manual whenever you need to.

The Traxter™ ATV with footshift gear selector comes with everything you’d normally find on the regular Traxter model plus an innovative hydraulic footshift gear. An ingenious approach to footshift that is more accurate than other systems and reduces the effort needed to shift gears.
